How we compare broadband deals

Headline prices hide the real cost of a contract. We add up everything you will pay:

Every monthly payment for the comparison period, including any price rises written into the contract in pounds and pence.
Upfront charges such as set-up or router delivery fees.
Your current exit fee, if you would have to leave your current deal early to switch.

We then compare that total with staying where you are, using the price you pay now and the price you would pay once your contract ends.

What we leave out

Cashback and rewards. We show them, but we never take them off the cost. They are not a price, and they often come with claim conditions.
Anything we cannot see. If a provider adds charges later, or your price changes outside the contract, we cannot know about it.

Comparison period

By default we compare over the longest contract in your list. You can choose 12, 18, 24 or 36 months instead. If a deal's contract is shorter than the period, we assume its last contract price continues and say so next to the result. Providers often charge more once a contract ends, so check.

Same answer, every time

The calculation runs in your browser, in whole pence, with no randomness. The same inputs always give the same result and the same ranking. Ties are broken by first-month price and then by name.

We never claim a deal is available at your address, and we never place orders. Check availability with the provider.
